CharityChoice Lets Consumers Choose Charities in Roundup Promotions

Charity round-up promotions have become an increasingly popular fund-raising tool, as they generally gain a higher level of participation than flat- dollar promotions, according to this academic study published in Science Direct, “Rounding Up For a Cause: The Joint Effect of Donation Type and Crowding on Donation Likelihood.”
 
Now, using Checkout by CharityChoice, e-commerce platforms can offer their customers a choice of major charities, while still promoting support for their own  favorite causes via roundup donations. Customers can click on whichever charity they choose from the selections offered.
 
The program’s system enables companies to select from any of the top 50 causes featured in CharityChoice’s collection of over 2,500 charities focused on social good (as opposed to political or related causes). In so doing, they can still support their favored charity by sharing a portion of CharityChoice’s processing fees with their charity.
 
In 2022, according to Engage for Good, charities raised over $749 million nationwide through point-of-sale donations, a 24% jump from 2020. A study by Babson College for Project ROI finds that effective corporate responsibility strategies can increase a company’s market value by up to 6% over a 15-year period.
